Creating your own prints is a really fun thing to do on the lead up to Christmas, especially if said printing involves wrapping paper and gift tags. We’re going to show you two methods – a repeat print and a multi directional print. Using our customer favourite Kraft wrapping paper (you might know it better as brown parcel wrap) and white and black inks.
So, first of all, you’re going to need this little lot and the great thing is, you may well already have some of these lying around at home, making it’s a really cheap way of creating your very own personalised wrapping paper.
Lino inks: black & white
Choose your design – this can be hand drawn or traced. Alternatively, download and print one of ours:
Depending on the design you’ve chosen (individual stamp or tiled pattern) transfer the design on the lino using tracing paper. Trace over design, then turn the tracing paper over, place onto the lino and rub over the lines until your tracing has transferred.
Cut out your design with either scissors if you are creating a shape like our handsome reindeer on the right or with the lino cutting tool if creating a pattern.
Clear away the mess you’ve made and pop some ink on your tray and prepare your roller with ink
Now prepare your lino for printing by applying the ink to the surface
You’ll now need to let your designs dry – time for a cuppa!
Start wrapping and tying on your tags and marvel at what you’ve created!
Have fun playing with different combinations and designs! We added a cheeky pom pom to Rudolph’s nose on the black print. So cute.
